Who are we?

Steelways is a newly established piercing studio, which was started because there was a very real need to get a piercer who is really familiar with the body and maintains a very high quality of control over hygiene and also personalises the piercing experience by ensuring you are in the best health before you get pierced.  The head piercer Linda is a Paramedic as well as a BRICSA registered Professional Piercer.  Our aim is to provide a medical type of environment, instead of the usual back of a Tattoo Studio set up. Many people are hesitant to enter a tattoo studio due to so called stigmas attached to this type of establishment.  Most of our colleagues are very professional and practice very safe procedures, so the stigmas are usually unfairly applied to these shops.

So why is all of this so important when you have a piercing?

As any surgical procedure, piercing is a very invasive process, the body as a whole reacts to this in many ways.  A healthy person who is well hydrated, sober, well nourished and free of any skin diseases is a good candidate for a body piercing. Firstly the body has a higher pain threshold, healing takes place much quicker, bleeding is usually minimal, shock does not set in so quickly.  Having a piercing done should be a pleasant experience with minimum risk.

What is our procedure?

When you make an appointment with us, we will mail you a form to fill in.  there are just some basic health questions, some advice to prepare for your piercing appointment, an indemnity form which is compulsory to complete and a care sheet for your new piercing.  All of the information is protected as it falls under the Patient Confidentiality Act and other privacy acts that prohibit us sharing any of your information, unless there is a medical emergency and the information is shared with another health professional to ensure proper care.

Why use us?

The main aim of our business is to give each client a personal, inexpensive and professional piercing.  We look at you as an individual and treat each person according to their personal requirements.  We will also not hesitate to advise you, should we think you are at risk if you have a piercing done.  We would rather ask you to wait or to not get a piercing at all than just take your money and do a piercing just for the sake of doing one.

We are also very approachable if there should be a problem or if you need advice.  We will do our best to make sure you get the best service and after care for your money.  Your piercing is our advertisement, so we want you to return for more or bring your friends along too.
